Indie Beer Showcase – Melbourne 2020 – POSTPONED

UPDATE (13/03): Following the Government's announcement regarding non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people, the Indie Beer Showcase will not take place next week on March 20-21.

In a statement, the IBA said: "We haven’t taken this decision lightly. This is devastating news for the Good Beer Week Team, but we take the health and safety of our patrons, volunteers, and brewery staff very seriously.

"At this point, the Indie Beer Showcase will not be cancelled but postponed until further information is revealed by The Australian Government regarding developments surrounding the virus.

"We’re encouraging ticket purchasers to hold onto their tickets, until further notice, as the event will continue to take place at a more appropriate time. While the Indie Beer Showcase will take place at some point this year, we will provide refunds to ticket holders who seek it."

The Crafty Pint will be in touch with Crafty Cabal members who secured double passes through us to find out whether they wish to hold onto them for the next event.

The Indie Beer Showcase is the Good Beer Week Gala Showcase reinvented – a little, at least.

The change of name follows the merger between Australia's leading beer week and the Independent Brewers Association (IBA) and sees the event switch its focus slightly to showcase only indie brewers.

Aside from that, however, it's an event that will be familiar to fans of the Gala Showcase, taking over Fed Square in the heart of Melbourne for a celebration of delicious local beer in the company of brewers and fellow beer lovers.
