One of the perks of subscribing to the Gregorian calendar is that every four years you get given a bonus 29th day in February.
So what to do when such a wonderful windfall comes around? Spend it a beer festival, obviously!
The folks at Dubbo's Monkey Bar will be making Leap Year 2020 a particularly memorable one as they've put together the third incarnation of Beers To The Bush, the independent beer festival of Central West NSW.
This year will feature a host of brewers from four states and ACT coming together to celebrate all things Aussie and indie, as well as giving locals a reason to drink and dance through the drought – even if only for a day.
The full brewer lineup:
- Two Birds
- Young Henrys
- Akasha
- The Welder's Dog
- Six String
- Beerfarm
- BentSpoke
- Wayward
- Nine Fingers
- Pioneer
- Devil's Elbow
- Woolshed
- Big Shed
- Ocean Reach
- Social Bandit
- Temple
- New England
Being a family-friendly event, you're encouraged to bring the little ones and picnic blankets to wile away the day in the company of an array of local food and music.
Tickets cost $35pp online in advance, or $40 if you turn up at the gate on the day. All tickets include a festival glass and four tasters.

And if you're keen to get ahead of the hoards, head to the aforementioned Monkey Bar the previous evening as they host a Beerfarm tap takeover complete with games, giveaways and limited edition beers.
