Bright Brewery's Darker Days 2020

Things may seem a bit dark right now but, rest assured, there's light on the horizon. It's blazing and warm and it roars outward from the ritualistic bonfire at the heart of Bright Brewery's Darker Days festival.

The annual winter gathering of Victorian high country brewers will – as with most things these days - look a little different to past events but it will go on nonetheless, full of warm food, live music and a near-bottomless supply of delicious dark beer.

Indeed, with virus response rules now requiring guests to be seated (as opposed to frolicking with hundreds of others around an enormous open flame), Darker Days as we know it will become two seperate Darker Days Dinner events.

Held at the brewery on July 25 and August 1, Head Chef Alan Davison will lead an intimate feast in the form of a two course meal, a six dark beer tasting experience (including this year's Stubborn Russian Imperial Stout, plus two past vintages), live music and, of course, the ceremonial bonfire.

Tickets for each date are $85, with $5 from each ticket going direct to the good folk at the Bright Country Fire Authority.

NOTE: The initial allocation of tickets has sold out – keep an eye out for extra releases if/when social restrictions change.

If you're in the mood for a DIYDD experience, you can order a Darker Days mixed pack online which includes six dark beers (Stubborn Russian Imperial Stout x 2, Banana Split Stout, Black Diamond Black IPA, Red XPA and Staircase Porter) plus a Bright beanie and t-shirt – head here to order.
