In mid-January, the crew at Braeside Brewing trundled some gear over to the George Woods Reserve across the road from their Mordialloc brewery, invited a couple of other businesses to do the same, then put a shout out for any locals who were interested in joining them for an afternoon of beer, burgers, ice cream and live music.
Proving that sometimes the best concepts are the simplest, the day – dubbed Picnic In The Park: Volume 1 – was a raging success. So now it's time for Volume 2 and they're going bigger, more collaborative, and rather more organised.
On January 31, they'll be returning to the George Woods Reserve and will be joined on the beer front by the alliterative lineup of Bad Shepherd, Burnley Brewing and BoJaK Brewing, with wine from Ranahan's Vineyard, spirits from Here's Looking At You, Kid, plus burgers, donuts, Mexican food, coffee, cakes, ice cream and who knows what other forms of deliciousness.
So, bring an appetite, something to sit on, and join the fun any time from midday to 6pm.
