The recent fires in WA hit pretty close to home for the team at Feral Brewing – as in about 3km away – so, to show their appreciation, they're teaming up with a handful of local businesses to raise funds for the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund and raise a glass to the firefighters who battled the blaze.
The all day affair at their Swan Valley brewpub on February 27 starts with a private breakfast for the firefighters at 8am, but from 11am it'll become a big ol' community gathering that will see Big Don’s Smoked Meats and Archie’s Hot Chicken cooking more than 1,000kg of brisket, pork, ribs and Nashville fried chicken to serve up to hungry punters.
All money from tap beer and BBQ sales throughout the day will go to the Lord Mayor’s Fund, which will see it go directly to help the people impacted by the Hills bushfires.
There will also be a DJ, plus wines donated by Howard Park and cocktails (or mocktails) donated by the Mechanics Institute.
If you've ever wanted to sink a bunch of beers and eat BBQ for a good cause, this is it.
