UPDATE: Due to the ongoing COVID situation in NSW, this event has been postponed. We'll update with a new date once we have one.
If you're the type who likes to consume the best of the best, it'd be a smart idea to get yourself a ticket to the Grape Grain & Graze Festival.
Put together by the multi-headed beast that is the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales – perhaps best known around these parts as the organisers of the well regarded Sydney Royal Beer & Cider Show and Sydney Royal Wine Show – this is an event where you get an all-access pass to the top drops.
Once you step through the door on August 7 you'll get a Riedel wine glass put in your hand (this is yours to keep) and given four hours to fill it with as many of the 1,800-ish entries to the Sydney Royal Wine Show as you wish to sample. They'll also have a dedicated Trophy Room containing the trophy-winning wines, of which you'll get to pick five to taste (if you think you'll want to try more, tokens will need to be pre-purchased online).
On top of that, the beer & cider garden will be wide open and they'll have food from the medal-winning producers from their parallel Food Show.
All up, it's a lot of great stuff under one roof (specifically, Hall 6 of the Sydney Showgrounds).
