For the second year, Blackhearts & Sparrows has teamed up with CoConspirators to create a special beer celebrating the many amazing women working in and around the beer industry.
The Brewer is a rye amber ale debuting at an event held at Perrys: A Refreshment Club on March 5 – not coincidentally a few days before International Women's Day. But it's about much more than just tapping a new beer.
The main event will kick off with a sensory session led by Stomping Ground's sensory & quality coordinator, Lindsay Astarita. There will be a panel discussion, hosted by Blackhearts' chief beer buyer Cherry Murphy, who'll share the mic with inspiring women from across the industry as they bring some truths and pearls of wisdom about forging a path in an industry that's been a very male-dominated domain.
The formal part of the event will then roll seamlessly into Sunday arvo drinks where you can chat with like-minded women. There'll be tunes, snacks, and heaps of tasty beers.
