Yee-haw! Not only is the fabulous LOJO Festival returning for 2023, but it's riding in fast from the horizon on a trusty mule and carrying with it a distinctly Western drawl.
This year's celebration of Lower Johnston Street and surrounds will see 20+ Abbotsford and Collingwood businesses teaming up for a day celebrating all things local – and all things classic cowboy.
As ever, breweries and bars will be at the heart of proceedings, with Bodriggy and their upstairs offshoot Stingrays hosting line dancing and karaoke, Dr Morse will be home to a Western-themed makers market, The Retreat has Benny James and the The Allstar Retreat House Rocking Band, while Nighthawks will showcase rotating Western-themed bands and Bodriggy beer specials.
And there's plenty more besides, with jewellery, tattoos, art, and clothing on offer. Need a cowboy mullet? Now's your chance! Want a game of 'Pin The Mullet On The Cowboy'? Course you do!
Heck, they're even having a Western-themed dog beauty pageant, and your canine bestie can get Dolly-style feather hair extensions. Woof!
