Oktoberfest at The Dizzy Rooster

You don't need us to tell you that Oktoberfest is something that's celebrated with great gusto by beer lovers Down Under, and has been for a loooong time; heck, a few local beer spots are coming in on two decades of Oktoberfest shenanigans. But for all that, there are others who are just now getting their first taste. One of those is The Dizzy Rooster

Their lederhosen and dirndl have been hung and aired, just waiting now to be unleashed at their first Oktoberfest event, one for which they've teamed up with the traditionally-minded (as in German tradition) brewers at Burnley.

So it will be that on September 22 the Scoresby bar and bottleshop will be pouring four Burnley Oktoberfest collaboration beers on tap (below), with a further four options available in the fridge:

  • Kristal Weizen – Burnley x Range
  • Bohemian Pilsner – Burnley x Seeker
  • Dortmunder Lager – Burnley x Sobremesa
  • Dunkles – Burnley x Shapeshifter

The Burnley team will be in from about 4pm doing tastings of the aforementioned beers, and if you try them all and fill in the special Oktoberfest Passport you'll go in the draw to win some more beer. There'll be German-inspired food options, including freshly baked bretzels, and – we're not sure if this technically constitutes an attraction or repulsion – an Oompah accordion player bringing the tunes from 4pm.

And if you're going to do all this right, you'd better come dressed in your own lederhosen/dirndl costume; they want to see your finest efforts and the best on the day will win Burnley beer.

Entry is free, but if you'd like to book a table just flick an email to info@thedizzyrooster.au.
