Beermuda is back, German style.
Yes, Brisbane's favourite bus-based brewery crawl will return on October 7 for a special Oktoberfest edition that's surely unlike any other way of experiencing the world's biggest beer festival.
Taking in local breweries Slipstream, Ballistic Beer, Helios and Hiker Brewing, you'll be able to board free buses at each location and brewery-hop your way around the Southside. Featuring more than 60 beers between them, you'll have no shortage of refreshments, with each brewery offering its own German-inspired beer, from hefeweizen to lichtenhainer, bock to Munich helles.
Along the way you can expect to chow down on schnitzels, bratwursts, Flammkuchen, and more German delicacies from the on-site kitchens and visiting food trucks. For a laugh, you can also take part in a pretzel eating competition, beer stein holding competition, or just don your dirndls and lederhosen to get in on the best dressed competition. And if you fancy a little bit of oom-pah and polka dancing, they'll have that too.
The buses will run from 1-7pm, departing every 30 minutes from each brewery. It's free to ride, with no reservations necessary, but some venues might be taking table bookings.
Note: While all the venues are family-friendly, you must be 18+ to ride the bus.
