The six years during which the Sauce brewery in Marrickville has been open have been some of the most momentous in Aussie beer history, with some pleasantly high highs and existential-type lows.
Along the way they've managed to stay the course, brewing more than 500 batches of beer, getting their beer into every Aussie state, welcoming a few hundred thousand guests into their taproom, and, as they say, "learning a lot".
Given all that, they're due a celebration, and celebrate they will on September 29 with a sixth birthday bash at their Marrickville home.
They'll be tapping a new birthday beer, the Cascara White Stout made with coffee husks, and that'll be served on nitro for extra creamy yumminess. Alongside that will feature the Cherry Cheesecake pastry sour, Marzen Oktoberfest lager (made with the experimental NZH-105 hop from NZ Hops), plus another that's yet to be revealed.
The brewers will be knocking off and kicking back at the brewer's table from 4pm, and you're welcome to join them for a chat and a drink.
Meanwhile, Chur Burger will be grilling it in the mobile kitchen with a special birthday burger, DJ Kat will be spinning tunes in the beer garden from 6pm, and there'll be birthday giveaways throughout the night, including prizes for best dressed. The theme? Whatever you want it to be!
