Fancy a more tropical twist on Oktoberfest-ivities? Burleigh Brewing is the place to be as they turn their Burleigh Heads home into what they've stated will be "the Gold Coast's most authentic German beer hall".
From midday on October 5 they'll be kicking off with a time-honoured keg tapping ceremony before the stein-clinking begins and you can rip into eight exclusive German-style beers that'll be pouring on tap. Naturally, they'll have loads of German-style pub grub like freshly baked pretzels and bratwurst with all the trimmings and trappings; you might even be lucky enough to nab yourself a lebkuchenherzn.
They'll be backing up the consumption with entertainment in the form of traditional German games and music, plus they'll have competitions through the day with prizes to match (best dressed for those in dirndls and lederhosen, obviously).
Tickets cost $25 which gets you a half-litre stein (yours to keep) and your first fill of beer, then entry to enjoy all the activities of the day. Pre-purchase is essential, with only a few spots kept aside for entry on the day, so book your ticket in advance here.
