For as long as anyone can remember, Bridge Road and The Wheaty have been teaming up to push the many virtues of independent Aussie beer. And for about as long as that – and certainly since the Wheaty Brewing Corps was born – they've been making beer together too.
Their first collaborative effort for 2025 – a Japanese rice lager with a touch of yuzu – is set to get its launch at the Adelaide pub on January 22, with Bridge Road founder Ben Kraus in the house alongside head brewer Dave Lawson.
They'll be there to look forward and back and chat all things beer while you sip away on a tidy selection of Bridge Road beers; for the first time at The Wheaty that lineup will feature some brewed in Beechworth and some from their newer Brunswick brewpub.
Here's how the tap list shakes down:
- Japanese Rice Lager with Yuzu (Brunswick)
- Simcoe IPA (Brunswick)
- Lush Hazy Pale (Brunswick)
- NZ Hazy Pale feat. Thiol-enriched hop blend Mega Terps (Beechworth)
- Mango Sour Fruited Gose with Dragon Fruit (Beechworth)
Kegs will be tapped from 5pm and you know the drill: they'll only be on for as long as they last.
