Since they launched their very first barrel-aged beer way back when, the sneaky folk at Akasha have made a point of hiding a few bottles in the depths of the cellar in anticipation that some future occasion would give cause for them to be hauled out and enjoyed with the benefit of a little extra time and reflection. That occasion has arrived.
On March 14 at their Leichhardt Barrel Room they're hosting 'The Barrel Archives', an evening that will pair a selection of vintage Akasha beers with a four course feast designed to match said beers.
There'll be five beers getting served up, none of them available anywhere else any more (unless you happen to personally have some in your own cellar):
- Barrel-Aged Flanders Red
- Jack Daniel’s Barrel-Aged Belgian Quadruple
- Whiskey Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
- Chardonnay Barrel-Aged Saison
- Sour Blonde Ale
The Akasha brewers will be on hand to guide you through the beers, how they were made, how they've changed, and how they've been paired to each course.
