Sixteen breweries are joining forces to raise money for the family behind Badlands Brewery. Brewery founder Jon Shiner's wife Bianca has been diagnosed with cancer and faces nine months of chemotherapy. So one of the family's friends, Gerard Meares of Pinchgut Brewing, has called around a host of New South Wales brewers and every single one has offered their support. What this means is that, on December 1, there will be 16 kegs from 16 breweries going on to the taps at the Quarryman's Hotel in Pyrmont, with proceeds going to the family. Many of the brewers will be there, the venue is providing free finger food all day, there will be raffles, auctions and possibly even sponsored head shaving. Gerard says: "The money raised goes towards the costs of the some of the drugs which are not covered by the PBS as well as helping with their three young children."
