The votes came in record numbers. They've been tallied. Now comes the anticipation. Which beer will be anointed as the people's champion in the Local Taphouse's seventh annual Hottest 100 Australian Beers competition?
Will it be an old favourite? Perhaps a recently rising star? Maybe even a surprise package? All will be revealed on January 26: Australia Day.
There are a couple of ways to keep track of the results as they're revealed. One is to grab a few beers at home then keep tabs here on The Crafty Pint where we'll be counting down throughout the day (see the homepage), as will our friends over at Brews News.
The other is to head to one of more than 50 venues across the country which are taking part in official celebrations. All of these venues are either running an event in conjunction with the countdown, or afterwards – many of which will be tapping the highly rated brews.
So make your plans early, don't forget to use the hashtag #H100beers, and enjoy a day celebrating some of the best beer this country has to offer. The latest list of participating venues is as follows:
