Pop Up Bar at Pentridge Prison

There's been a fair bit of a beery action going on at the former home of Chopper Read and his ilk.

Pentridge Prison hosted a craft beer festival in its cells last year that attracted more than twice the visitors the organisers expected, they've lined something up for Good Beer Week and, throughout summer and beyond, they've got a pop up bar operating too.

It's been set up by the James Squire team, who've pointed out that the man himself spent a fair amount of time behind bars.

Every Friday until April at least, the Hop Thief bar is open from 3pm pouring a selection of core range and limited release beers.

There are also steak sandwiches, pulled pork and other morsels on offer, as well as the chance to take a tour of the prison.

The bar is in the cells of D Division from 3pm to 10pm on Fridays.
