The Oak Barrel's annual Craft Beer and Cider Fair is back for a fifth round. And unlike some festivals which follow the "bigger is better" mantra, this one doesn't need to get bigger, nor better, as it has a winning formula pretty well nailed down. And it's a pretty simple one, too.
Held out the back of the store over two sessions on Saturday June 25, you get given a glass and three hours to work your way through more than 120 different beers and ciders from 22 different producers – most of which will have the brewers on hand – including:
- Modus Operandi
- Doctor's Orders
- HopDog BeerWorks
- Shenanigans
- Batch Brewing
- Pirate Life
- Stockade
- Sydney Brewery
- Mornington Peninsula
- Barrow Boys
- Stone Dog Meadery
- Willie Smiths
- Small Acres Cyder
This event sells out every year, and usually well in advance, so you'd best get in promptly if you're keen.
Session one runs from 12pm-3pm and session two goes from 4pm-7pm. Tickets are $45 for members ($55 for non-members) which gets you as much sipping and sampling as you desire, as well as a $10 food voucher for the canteen.
Make your bookings through The Oak Barrel's website.
