The brewers at Mountain Goat may spend 364 days a year working towards a common goal but all of that’s about to go out the window.
Over the past few weeks each of the five brewers – plus the bar manager, for good measure – has been given free license in the brewhouse to come up with a single keg of beer of their choosing: no rules, no guidelines and no restrictions on what they can do.
They’ll all be getting tapped together on Saturday February 18 for what they’re dubbing the Single Keg Showdown, with a trophy up for grabs (and no doubt plenty of bragging rights) for the winning beer and brewer.
Where this concerns you is that they need you to come and help decide which beer is best. A $5 ticket gets you in, puts a beer in your hand, gives you plenty of chances to win spot prizes and the all important voting power. The number of tickets of finite so if you’re interested you’d be advised to book one promptly here.
Doors open at midday with the winner being handed the trophy at 6pm, so get in any time in between.
We've got a double pass to give away for this event. It might only be a $10 saving but we're told the winner will be "looked after" too. Check our Facebook post for the event for a chance to win.
And, if you're a Crafty Cabal member, look out for a sweet new offer coming soon at Goat – a free pot of every new beer they launch at the brewery (note: they tap a new single keg, Rare Breed or Barrel Breed pretty much every Friday of the year...).
