It's a brave new world, this one full of craft beer. There are new flavours, weird ingredients and styles of beer you'll probably not have heard of before. It can be hard to keep up with from within the industry, so it must be more than a little perplexing if you're dipping your toes into it for the first time. This event may very well help.
The team at Beer Cartel is teaming up with their mates at The Noble Hops to host an afternoon in the Redfern bar that's an introduction to beer tasting.
Beer Cartel man and qualified Cicerone Lachlan Mclean will be guiding you through the process of what beer is and how it's created, take you on a sensory journey explaining things like why beer tastes different from a glass, argue the merits of bottles versus cans and explore a range of styles. And throughout it all you'll be sipping on beer and nibbling on a few snacks.
Tickets are $40 for the 90 minute session which gets you five beers to try, loads of information, a handy booklet so you don't forget it, plus a $10 voucher to buy something nice from the guys at Beer Cartel.
