The brewers and beer lovers of Tasmania are coming together to host a unique event across the state in celebration of the life of Ty Capaci, who founded Double Head Brewing in Cambridge with wife Amanda.
Following his untimely death last month, Amanda has agreed to release the last kegs he brewed to breweries and venues around Tasmania for a coordinated tapping at 4pm on June 30.
The community that has supported Double Head Brewing is invited to pop into one of the venues and raise a pint of one of Ty's last beers in his honour.
Money raised by each venue will be donated to Double Head to aid Ty's family as they begin the long road to recovery.
The list of participating venues is:
- Last Rites Brewing
- Hobart Brewing Company
- The Winston
- Shambles Brewery
- Empress Craft Beer
- Saint John Craft Beer
- T-Bone Brewing Co
- The New Sydney
- Preachers
- Jack Greene
- The Brunswick
- Willie Smith's Apple Shed
- Tandy's Alehouse
- Society
- Quartermasters Arms
On top of this, regional airline Par Avion has donated a helicopter ride around Hobart followed by lunch at Frogmore Creek and a return flight to the South West wilderness. This will be raffled along with a pallet of beer, cider and whatever else organisers receive from the local beverage industry at all the participating venues over the next two weekends.
Keep an eye on the FB event page for updates as more venues may still be added.
