Job Description: Local Beer Ambassador – Yarra Valley
Matilda Bay has an amazing opportunity for a dedicated beer lover to join the team and be the face of the brand in the Yarra Valley.
The LBA is a key role within the business, with ownership and accountability for driving consumption within a defined local geography, as well as accelerating the knowledge and passion for beer within our hospitality team, and driving draught beer consumption within our own hospitality venue.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, and working closely with the Venue Manager, the role will have a dual remit and requires a driven individual who has a great passion for beer, excellent communication skills and experience in sales and hospitality.
As part of our beer education program, the LBA will conceptualise, create and facilitate a structured training program for all staff (new and existing). The LBA will also have a customer-facing remit, working in the hospitality venue as our version of a sommelier, and developing a program for customers to use our soon-to-be-installed 3hL pilot plant to create and brew their own beer.
The creation and implementation of our pilot plant project is a central point for Matilda Bay’s vision of being the leader in educating Australia about the beauty of craft beer, so some experience in running consumer-facing sessions is preferred.
It is expected that the working week will be spent with equal amounts of time working on beer education as well as sales within the Yarra Valley.
Cicerone qualifications are preferred, but not essential.
The role will require time spent outside of the traditional 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with regular weekend work part of the role.
