Job Description: Strategic Brand Manager - Growth

Modus is an award winning, family-owned beverage & hospitality business. Originating in Mona Vale, Sydney 2014 and now expanding to our new state-of-the-art Headquarter Brewery/Venue in Merewether, Newcastle.  We live by the simple M.O: Beer first. No shortcuts. We take this approach all the way through to the sales and marketing of our Modus, Cerveza and NORT Beers.

In this role, based full time in our brand new beachside headquarters in Newcastle, you will contribute to the development and growth of the Modus Operandi brands and venues by contributing to the strategic brand plan. You will manage all associated projects and campaigns end to end, working cross functionally with the broader marketing team, business stakeholders and our agency partners.

You will lead and empower a team of professionals, including a Digital Marketing Manager, Marketing Coordinator & Graphic Designer. As the business grows you will play a key role in managing the expansion of the Marketing team with strategic roles to support our growth.

Key accountabilities:

  • Oversee all brand plans, campaigns, and activations, ensuring it delivers to the business strategy and marketing objectives.
  • Contribute to the Modus Operandi brands strategic marketing plan and execute the plan.
  • Manage the delivery of the marketing calendar & activation plan.
  • Accountable for the creative briefs across all channels to ensure concept and creative is on brand, there is clarity of message for the customer and a consistent customer journey.
  • Ensure customer, channel and category insights are considered and translated into market leading campaigns that drive sustainable growth and build our key brands Cerveza, NORT and Modus in the market.
  • Lead the post campaign review across each channel, ensuring each PIR has a strong executive summary on key learnings and performance and that new campaigns are using data and insights from existing and previous projects.
  • Actively champion our brand identity to ensure all brand touch points bring to life our brand personality, tone of voice and guidelines.
  • Lead, develop & coach a team of motivated professionals to deliver success within their roles.

Your background:

  • Experience in developing and executing strategic plans over a 1, 3 & 5 year horizon.
  • Experience (5+ years) in a marketing role, with experiences in brand and campaign management.
  • Creative flair and outside-the-box thinking to create innovative ways to go-to-market and experience in influencing internal stakeholders including marketing teams and your peers within a cross functional business.
  • Experience managing external agencies and briefing creative teams.
  • Experience leveraging customer insights to derive a plan.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of team.
  • Excellent presentation and data storytelling skills.
  • Experience in beverages, on and off premise, with brands ranged in major retails groups is desirable.
  • Project management & agile mindset/experience is an advantage.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in marketing or equivalent experience.

Package:

$130k - $160k OTE. Awarded based on candidate experience.
