Job Description: BrewPub Brewery Assistant

We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and motivated individual to join our Production team based in Braddon as our BrewPub Brewery Assistant.
About the role
Reporting to the BrewPub Brewer, your responsibilities will include assisting in the production of BentSpoke Brewing Co products including Cellaring and other Brewery Operations within the Braddon BrewPub.
In addition, you may be required to perform other duties as the Production Leadership team reasonably requests from time to time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Keg Room
- Ensure adherence to all keg room Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Assist in contributing to constant improvement of the WHS program.
- Assist with ensuring the brewery keg rooms, beer lines, bar fonts, beer taps, and all other serving equipment are kept in a safe and hygienic state.
- Maintain weekly beer line cleaning.
- Assist in all quality control measures and procedures.
- Assist in the filling and cleaning of kegs.
- Assist with the maintenance of BentSpoke external bars.
- Assist, when necessary, with cellar duties/stock movements with respect to external events.
Brewery
- Assist the Brewer to ensure production is in-line with current goals and demands.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Brewery Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
- Assist in all beer processing procedures, including but not limited to - Yeast processing, dry hopping, ingredient preparation, tank cleaning, etc.
- Assist with Brewery maintenance, ensuring preventative maintenance and cleaning of all plant and equipment is performed to manufacturers specifications and records are kept for break downs, services, and all work carried out.
- Assist in maintaining Brewery Record Management ensuring accurate records are kept for brewing, packaging, raw materials, work in process, finished goods and excise records.
- Assist with the packaging of all BentSpoke products by:
- Packaging of kegs.
- Ensuring product quality and consistency.
- Maintaining a high level of hygiene and sanitation across all packaging processes.
- Assist, when necessary, with cellar duties/stock movements with respect to external events.
Please note that this is a manual handling role and regular lifting and other manual handling tasks will be required. Completion of a pre-employment medical will be a requirement of this role.
What will you bring to the role?
- Passion for Craft Beer.
- Previous experience in brewing or cellar (highly desirable).
- Mature attitude, honesty, loyalty and exceptional work ethic.
- Great communication skills.
- Tertiary Brewing Qualifications (desired but not essential).
- Forklift license desired.
- Holding a full drivers licence is a mandatory requirement of this role.
