From industry events to trivia nights, Stone & Wood's Brisbane tasting room regularly hosts events throughout the year.
To help ensure they run smoothly, the team is searching for a new functions coordinator and shift lead.
Job Description: Shift Lead & Functions Coordinator
Stone & Wood is serious about good beer. Not just good in the sense of great tasting, quality beverages, but good as an aspiring conscious business supporting our local communities including our vibrant brewing community, especially in and around Brisbane.
In 2019 we opened our doors at the Brissy Tasting Room and we’ve never looked back! With a great team, awesome atmosphere, and tasty beers, we’ve become part of the furniture here in The Valley. A big part of what we do at our venues is centred around education and developing people’s appreciation for good beer. We believe we can add value to the ever emerging and changing good beer scene in Brisbane and we’re on the hunt for a passionate beer lover to help us continue to bring this to life.
Not only do we pour beer, but we host small events, corporate functions and gatherings including nights where our fantastic beer community join in. From our very own Beer Club dinners, industry nights to the odd Harry Potter Trivia session… you just never know what you are going to get!
This is a great opportunity for someone who has previous experience in event and function management, has the ability to handle multiple event plans and has great organisational skills. If you have hospitality leadership experience, this is a bonus! We’d love our successful candidate to think of guests first, communicate confidently, have a love of beer and be able to represent our brands in the simple, down to earth style we value so much.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support day to day operations of our venue including RSA management and delivering an impeccable guest experience
- Be a key liaison with our external caterers
- Ability to run events and secure function bookings, through end-to-end process with an awareness of profitability and industry standards
- Managing all function enquiries via phone, email, and booking platforms
- Generating EO’s for events and communicating with other Tasting Room staff
- Management of back of house systems, such as Kounta and Untapped
- Stock control of beverages & merch – ordering, receiving, stocktakes, etc
- Train, roster and help lead our casual hospo crew
- Experience with social media content & posts is a bonus
The important bits: this is a full-time 6-month contract based at our Brisbane Tasting Room that will require flexibility to work both night and weekend shifts. You must hold a current RSA and have full working rights to work in Australia.
