Job Description: Trainee Brewer Wanted at Boundary Island Brewery

As a small, dedicated team, every member plays a crucial role in our brewing process and overall success. We’re looking for a passionate and eager Trainee Brewer to join us on this exciting journey.
Role Overview:
As a Trainee Brewer, you'll be hands-on in our brewing process, learning the art and science behind each batch. You’ll work closely with our Head Brewer, gaining valuable skills and knowledge to contribute to the production of our beers. This role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about brewing, willing to learn, and excited to grow within the craft beer industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage fermentation and conditioning processes.
- Beer filtration and transfers.
- Production of RTDs, spirits, and other non-beer products.
- Keg filling and canning beer.
- Clean and sanitize brewing equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols.
- Assist with inventory management.
- Sensory evaluation and tasting of beers.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
- Potential to learn brewhouse operations.
- Record keeping.
- General venue cleaning and maintenance.
Candidate Requirements:
- A passion for craft beer.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining safety, accuracy, attention to detail, and best practices at all times
- Mechanical aptitude & problem-solving skills
- Strong focus on safety and safe work practices
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Hold a current driver's license. Forklift license would be an advantage
- No formal qualifications are required, but any brewing or science training would be an advantage
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
