King Road Brewing have been amassing a hefty collection of trophies in recent years, with their IPA becoming something of a WA classic.

If you'd like to be part of the action at their brewpub south of Perth, they're hiring an experienced brewer / packaging operator.


JOB DESCRIPTION: EXPERIENCED BREWER / PACKAGING OPERATOR

King Road Brewing Co is a family-owned and operated business, all of our beer and cider is produced on our rural site in Oldbury – just 35 mins south of Perth CBD. We put a lot of effort into everything that we produce and we are very proud of our achievements to date. We are looking for a brewer / packaging operator to add to the team.

This role will be multi-faceted, with time spent on the packaging line, on the brewhouse, and cellar duties.   

We are looking for a candidate with either:

  • Solid packaging line experience, with the desire and ability to learn brewing
  • Experienced brewer, hungry to learn and take on the challenges of a packaging line

We run a 15hl, 2V brewhouse, with tanks ranging from 15hl to 60hl. The packaging line is a CODI counter pressure line capable of running at 45cpm, with depal and labelling.

The team works a 4-day roster (4 x 10hr shifts) – so you would be either Mon-Thur or Tues-Fri, with occasional weekend work required (rotating roster for gravs  & dry hopping, and beer festivals)

Tasks will include:

  • Running, cleaning and maintaining a canning line
  • Cellaring duties including tank CIP, keg cleaning and filling, dry hopping, filtration
  • Kegging
  • Lab duties
  • Wort production
  • Apple pressing and cider production
  • Record keeping for all packaging, cellaring and wort production duties
  • Maintaining beer lines and taps in our bars
  • Represent the brewery at festivals and events

We are looking for someone with these attributes:

  • High attention to detail, with a passion for keeping equipment well maintained
  • Passion for producing consistently high quality beer
  • A positive and motivated attitude
  • Able to perform manual labour and handle kegs and bags of malt
  • Comfortable using technology for planning, record keeping, workflow management and communication
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Strong ability to identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to work both independently, as well as part of a team
  • Available to work weekends on occasion
  • Driver's licence
  • Forklift licence (or prepared to obtain)

The following attributes will be highly regarded:

  • Formal brewing qualifications
  • Packaging qualifications or experience

Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications.
