Fury & Son has been brewing at its Keilor Park home since launching in 2016. Following a brewery upgrade, they're looking to expand the team.
So, if you want to be a part of their mission, now's the time...
Job Description: Assistant Brewer
Thanks to a recent brewery upgrade here at Fury and Son we need a new assistant brewer. We are looking for someone who wants to get involved at the frontline of Melbourne’s continually expanding craft beer scene.
The position will involve you assisting in all aspects of beer production; from brew days to cellar duties to packaging there is always plenty to be done. A large amount of what we do is cleaning up after or preparing for packaging and brew days so keeping the brewery looking its best inside and out will come down to you.
We’re not a massive operation, filling kegs, making boxes, etc. is all still done by hand. You need to be fit enough to work in a physical environment but don’t worry if you’re not an Olympic weightlifter; we’re not going to ask you to do anything superhuman.
We work in an environment with dangerous machines, nasty chemicals and very hot water. A common-sense approach to safety is a must. You must also be able to follow instruction as this is often for your safety and the safety of your workmates.
Early starts or late finishes are often needed to get everything done in a week, so you must be able to work flexible hours. Don’t worry, we will keep you caffeinated.
We want to teach you as much as we can about making great beer, you have to be willing to learn.
The ideal candidate has a keen interest in good, local beers. The ability to work with your hands and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues is a bonus.
Creativity helps, we love churning out single keg batches for our taproom and they often get scaled up to seasonal releases.
Fury and Son are an equal opportunity employer. We brew our beer on the lands on the Wurundjeri people.
