Job Description: Cellarperson

Bad Shepherd Brewing Co are seeking a cellarperson to assist with all ancillary brewery operations tasks including cellaring, packaging, and maintenance.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for cellaring of beer as directed by Head Brewer / Brewer

  • Complete gravity, pH and temperature measurements and log activity
  • Conducting VDK testing of beer
  • Dry-hopping beers
  • Carbonating beers
  • Checking CO2 and DO levels of beer in tank and/or packaged beer
  • Yeast off tanks

Responsible for assisting with packaging processes: 

  • Timely and focused support of canning line when in operation including labelling, filling and palletising of finished product
  • Assist with set up of canning line including sanitisation procedures
  • Assist with clean-up of canning line and packaging area including clean in place of equipment
  • Clean and fill kegs as directed

Assist with brewing processes:

  • Brewing opportunities will be present under the supervision of Head Brewer/Brewer, but ancillary to cellaring responsibilities, including:
    • Conducting brews as per Standard Operating Procedures
    • Clean in place and sanitise fermenter and/or brewhouse and heat exchanger
    • Pitch yeast in accordance with recipe
    • Log all activity as required

Assist with maintenance as directed by Head Brewer / Brewer: 

  • General clean-up of brewery area
  • Maintenance tasks as identified ongoing
