Job Description: Packaging Shift Lead

Brick Lane Brewing is a proudly independent brewer making awesome beers, ciders and other products from its growing brewery in Dandenong South.

Passionate about Packaging?  Lead and inspire a team as a Packaging Shift Lead at our state of the art packaging facility in our Dandenong South Brewery!

In this role you’ll be responsible for leading a production shift within the packaging department, delivering the daily packaging production plan.

Critical to this role will be:

  • Ensuring a culture of safety and quality through strict adherence to packaging processes and procedures and safety and quality standards.
  • Leading a team of packaging operators to execute the daily supply plans, filling kegs, cans and bottles in a variety of formats, and manage the day-to-day operation of our automated packaging lines.
  • Being responsible for mentoring and developing your team of operators, completing at-line quality checks, machine format changeovers, processing work orders and identification and resolution of improvement opportunities within the packaging department.
  • Building your leadership skills through developing the skills and capabilities of your team through development planning, management and training and assessment.

Reporting directly to the Packaging Manager, you will lead from the front and be actively involved in hands-on packaging operations alongside your team. 

You’ll bring previous experience in a beverage packaging production environment and outstanding organisational and planning skills with demonstrated strong problem solving capability.  Strong leadership skills and management experience will be highly regarded, as is a passion for and understanding of the beer or associated industries. Experience in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to multitask is essential.

Brick Lane’s packaging department runs a rotating 3 shifts and this position will involve rotating morning, afternoon, and night shifts. 

The right to work in Australia essential.  After hours and weekend work will be required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
