KAIJU! are getting closer and closer to having their venue ready to welcome people inside but before they do, they need some new team members to join them. 

They're hiring both a venue manager and a head chef - here's what you need to know about both roles. 


Job Description: Venue Manager

KAIJU! Beer is an independent, family-owned brewery based in Dandenong South, Victoria

We’ve been on a roll the past few years enjoying consistent growth and we’re very excited to be opening our restaurant and tap room in Huntingdale before Christmas!

We are looking for the perfect Venue Manager who has exceptional management experience to confidently lead the new team and deliver an inclusive and fun experience to everyone who comes through the doors 

Who you are:

  • A strong leader who focuses on the  safety and wellbeing of staff and customers
  • Confident operator with proven experience meeting budgets and KPIs
  • Extensive knowledge of and passion for the independent drinks market committed to ongoing learning and development
  • Outstanding organisational and leadership qualities
  • Be it events, stock control, shift management, cash handling or budgets,  you respect the finer details and strive for perfection. 
  • A problem solver with the ability to assess and react appropriately 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • At least three years of VM experience in a similar role

What we need you to do:

  • Promote the KAIJU! brand in a fun and positive way at all times
  • Be responsible for all aspects of operating the venue efficiently and effectively, ensuring a consistently high quality experience with a focus on profitability 
  • Recruitment, training, development and retention of a quality team
  • Efficient stock management procedures including maintaining margins and controlling wastage 
  • Experience with a draught system is highly desirable
  • Maintaining and ensuring the execution of  all OH&S, Food Safety, Fair Work, Covid-Safe and company policies 
  • Responsible for ensuring all staff and patrons are serving and behaving in compliance with all licensing laws and regulations at all times.

Job Description: Head Chef – Pizzaiolo Extraordinaire 

KAIJU! Beer is an independent, family-owned brewery based in Dandenong South, Victoria

We are looking for a Head Chef who prides themselves on delivering consistent, tasty food and running an efficient kitchen.

With a focus on hand-stretched pizza bases and shared plates, you will need to know how to get that perfect pizza crust every time

Who you are:

  • A strong leader who has a proven history of running efficient and safe kitchens 
  • Confident in and passionate about your skills, you love to develop your team through knowledge to maintain a happy and engaged crew
  • Outstanding organisational and people management skills
  • Be it events, stock control, shift and roster management, budgets  or cleanliness, you respect the finer details and strive for perfection. 
  • A problem solver with the ability to assess and react appropriately 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • At least three years of experience in a similar role

What we need you to do:

  • Maintain a delicious menu that compliments the KAIJU! brand and strives to exceed customers’ expectations
  • Liaise with the FOH team ensuring all necessary knowledge of menus, specials and allergy information.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of operating the kitchen efficiently and effectively, ensuring a consistently high quality service with a focus on profitability 
  • Recruitment, training, development and retention of a quality team
  • Efficient stock management procedures including maintaining sufficient stock levels, controlling wastage and maintaining target margins
  • Maintaining a complete and concise Food Safety Program and relevant compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to all SOPs
  • Liaising with the VM, ensuring compliance with all policies including OH&S 
  • Responsible for ensuring all equipment and services are well maintained at all times
