The Deeds Brewing taproom took a long time to open but it's quite quickly become known for the impressive food menu that's designed to match their beers.

If you're keen to keep that food program running smoothly, the brewery wants to hear from you. 


Job Description: Head Chef 

Deeds Taproom & Kitchen, Glen Iris

Want to make top quality food without all the pressure and fuss? Deeds Taproom is seeking a new Head Chef to oversee a contemporary menu showcasing the best local products, with an emphasis on working with beer and beer ingredients in new and interesting ways. 

The taproom is designed to showcase the broad Deeds Brewing range of beers.  Great food to match the quality of the beers and the space is a key element of what we do. 

As things get back to normal we will also be running regular beer and food matching events and have the opportunity to work with the brewery team using fun ingredients to make new and unique beers.


Competitive salary

Typically a 38-40 hour work week

Great, skilled kitchen crew already in place


Role requirements:

  • Minimum three years experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrable experience in designing a menu showcasing seasonal, regional Victorian produce.
  • Strong craft beer knowledge preferred (or eagerness to learn quickly)
  • Beer, wine and food matching knowledge
  • Background in quality dining
  • Past leadership of high volume kitchens

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing seasonally rotating menus
  • Hiring, training and leading the kitchen team
  • Rostering for the kitchen
  • Working with Venue Manager to execute functions and events
  • Stocktake and ordering
  • Overseeing kitchen labour, COGS KPIs in conjunction with Venue Manager
  • Kitchen cleaning and maintenance
