Job Description: Logistics and Warehouse Manager

We are currently seeking applicants for a new role at our Port Melbourne Brewery. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, the Logistics and Warehouse Manager role will be responsible for Managing National Logistics and the Port Melbourne Warehouse. It is a 40 hour per week full time position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Staff, train, evaluate and develop team members as required
  • Supervise and deliver daily activities of the warehouse, including stock movement
  • Schedule team members to meet the demands of the facility
  • Allocate necessary space for stock rotation
  • Placing orders for brewing and packaging materials, liaising with the appropriate leader
  • Booking National Logistics with relevant carriers and creating Transfers/Orders in Qdos 
  • Managing CHEP account by transferring all outgoings, reconciling numbers from the stocktake and maintaining enough stock for upcoming production
  • Assist and maintain appropriate inventory levels and product loss control
  • Oversee and deliver shipping and receiving functions
  • Keep warehouse organized for maximum utilization
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Ensure inventory system is accurate and maintained timely
  • Develop and maintain warehouse related KPIs
  • Implement and drive safety protocol

Education:

  • Qualification in Business Administration, Management, Operations preferred but not essential
  • Forklift license mandatory
  • Manual Driver’s license mandatory

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • At least 3 years of warehouse/inventory experience.
  • Requires prior experience managing employees.
  • Intermediate PC and database skills.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • 3+ years managing warehouse/inventory environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Power BI, Word, Access, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate critical information at all levels within the organization
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Able to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Incorporates safety and quality into every decision while performing day- to-day activities
  • Knowledge of writing SOPs and researching, creating, and managing warehouse related KPI’s.
