Job Description: Taproom Manager
We are Watsacowie Brewing Company, a busy craft brewery located in Minlaton just over two hours drive from Adelaide on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, South Australia.
About the role
We are looking for a beer loving individual to join our team of hardworking and passionate people as our Taproom Venue Manager. The role will be required to work across our taphouse opening hours from Wednesday to Sunday closing at 6pm most nights along with some public holidays and evening functions. It’s a hands-on position but with primarily a management focus. You will work closely with the founders of the business to provide guidance for strategic direction and growth into the future. Remuneration commensurate based on experience. Relocation support available.
Duties include:
- Leading a small team and maintaining a positive and engaging Taproom culture.
- Ensuring the highest level of patron experience, living and breathing high standards of excellent customer service.
- Coordinating staff and resources for festivals, beer events, markets & local event sponsorship days.
- Efficient rostering of staff.
- Observing and creating avenues and opportunities to improve brand presence and customer experience.
- Venue management, i.e. liaising/booking vans, bands & live music events
- Till and cash management
- Taproom stock management
- Offsite beer festival & event coordination
Ideal candidates:
- High expectations/understanding of great customer service in a brewery taproom
- Previous experience in a brewery or bar/food industry (must have RSA and preferably RP)
- Previous experience in venue/taproom management
- Previous experience in people management
- A living passion and enthusiasm for great beer!
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn & be a team player
- Experience in busy cellar door/bar where there are peaks and troughs in patronage
- Ability to learn new computer systems with ease
