Job Description: Events & Promotions Officer

Here at Bright Brewery, we are on the hunt to add an up-and-coming Events & Promotions Officer to our team. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an up-and-coming Events/Promotions professional to join an award-winning team in a fun, friendly, and fast-paced craft brewery. This is a full-time role.  

WHO WE ARE  

Bright Brewery is a local-family-owned business and fiercely independent brewery, bar, and restaurant, located in the heart of Bright, Victoria, which has been established for over 16 years. During this time, we have built a  reputation for high-quality beer and excellent customer service, culminating in a being inducted into the Victorian Tourism Hall of Fame in 2019, after being named Victoria’s Best Brewery three years in a row. We also collected  a Champion’s Trophy at the 2019 Independent Beer Awards!

In 2018, we completed a multi-million-dollar investment in our large production facility and launched into the craft beer wholesale market. We are now available right across Australia, internationally, and we even hold the title of Victoria’s best independent lager!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR  

We are looking for an up-and-coming Events & Promotions Officer to join our team here in beautiful Bright.  

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Events & Promotions Officer will be responsible for all aspects of planning, organising, and operating onsite and offsite events throughout the year. This includes: 

  • Beer Festivals 
  • Mountain Bike Festivals 
  • Community Events 
  • Bike Races 
  • Music Festivals 
  • Snow Sports Events 
  • Others, as required  

The Events & Promotions Officer is also responsible for managing Bright  Brewery’s own calendar of premier events, including: 

  • Darker Days Festival 
  • Picnic In The Paddock Festival 
  • 5Zero Gravel/MTB Event 
  • Venue events such as Beer Launches, Community Events and others (in  collaboration with our Venue Team) 

The Events & Promotions Officer is also responsible for planning, implementing,  managing offsite retail sales promotions, in collaboration with our Sales Team,  to support our growing wholesale business. This includes: 

  • Beer Tastings 
  • Tap Takeovers 
  • Trade Shows 
  • Instore activations 
  • Visual Merchandising  
  • Others, as directed by the Marketing Manager 

The right candidate will have experience in event coordination and or sales promotions, be a highly motivated and organised person with outstanding attention to detail and a desire to provide excellent customer service and experience. 

YOUR KEY TASKS 

  • Managing all planning and logistics for our attendance at off-site festivals, events and trade shows (as above) 
  • Working at festivals and trade shows (setting up, pouring beers, etc) o Managing the upkeep and storage of Event equipment and inventory  
  • Planning, managing and operating our in-house Marquee Events (as  above) including live music curation and bookings 
  • Creation and development of new, profitable in-house premier events  at Bright Brewery, including live music curation and bookings o Working with the Venue team to plan and promote venue-based  Events in Bright (as above) 
  • Working with the Sales team to plan and operate in-store tastings and promotions (as above). 
  • Assisting the sales team with both in store and venue activations (as above). 
  • Working with the Venue and Kitchen teams, create a workable  Functions model for Bright Brewery 
  • Other Marketing support, as directed by the Marketing Manager. This  may include:  
    • Distribution of beer samples 
    • Creation of posters, in-store Point of Sale material etc 
    • Other tasks, as directed 

YOU HAVE 

  • A love for, and some knowledge of, craft beer 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Very strong attention to detail 
  • A shared commitment to Bright Brewery’s values: living a sustainable,  authentic and active lifestyle 
  • Passion for the mountains and promoting products that are made with  a sustainable focus 
  • The ability to organise and use your time effectively 
  • The ability to operate independently as well as in a team environment o Proven ability to work within financial budgets 
  • Proven experience in planning and running events 
  • An interest in, or love for, live music (preferred) 
  • Experience in, or a willingness to learn, basic graphic design using  Adobe Creative Suite (preferred not must-have) 
  • Excellent customer service
  • The ability to think quickly on your feet, problem solve, and use your  initiative  
  • A current Victorian driver’s license  
  • A current Victorian RSA (or be willing to attain one before starting in this  role)  

THE ROLE  

This is a full-time role based in Bright, Victoria. This role can not be performed remotely.  

This role reports to the Marketing Manager, and works closely with all other departments, specifically the Sales, Venue, Logistics, Administration, and  Brewing teams. 

This role requires flexibility in your working week, and the ability and willingness to work nights, weekends and public holidays where required, particularly during Events season.
