This posting is more than 1 year old

Bright Brewery is one of The Crafty Pint's favourite spots to enjoy a beer: a beautiful location and some damn fine brews.

They have a pretty good track record in head brewers too: the last one is off to join Pirate Life and the previous one is now head brewer at Hawkers Beer.

So if you think you can follow in such footsteps and fancy making beer in one of the prettiest parts of Australia, read on...

JOB DESCRIPTION: HEAD BREWER

Bright Brewery is a successful family owned and operated brewery that has been producing “MountainCrafted” beers in the spectacular alpine town of Bright since 2005.

Our region offers beautiful weather, a rich natural environment and promotes active lifestyles, which drew us to live and brew in Bright. Hence, protecting this environment is important to us both professionally and personally.

As we plan to significantly expand our production capabilities in the near future, we place particular focus on minimising the environmental impact of our beer production in order to protect the mountain lifestyle that we enjoy.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified brewer who is aligned with our core values, is passionate about their craft and takes pride in consistently producing a quality product that tastes great. The right candidate will have a strong technical brewing knowledge and a thorough understanding of the practical aspects of the brewing process.

The precise nature and scope of the role will depend on your experience. Day to day duties will include wort production, cellar operations, yeast propagation, packaging (keg and bottle), ordering and shipping, basic lab work, and as always, lots of cleaning. You will complete and maintain brewing logs and supplementary documentation, and have an understanding of excise and reporting obligations. You will also be involved in recipe development, sensory panels, our HAACP program and continual improvement processes. Occasionally, you may represent Bright Brewery at festivals, events and for media, so your ability to talk in an accessible and engaging way about the beer you make is important.

A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate, commensurate with their level of knowledge and experience, in line with the expansion of our brewing production.

In our rapidly growing company, there will regularly be opportunities for career advancement to candidates who show dedication to their craft and a willingness to learn.

Bright Brewery is an equal opportunity employer and this position offers a chance to live in a truly beautiful place with world class mountain biking, cycling, hiking, camping, paragliding, snow and river sports. We encourage broad and active lifestyles, and flexible working arrangements may be negotiated to accommodate this.

Applications can be made confidentially by sending a covering letter and resume to the Business Manager via enjoywork@brightbrewery.com.au by April 15.
