Be A Brewer at The Australian Brewery

Posted November 22, 2016

This posting is more than 1 year old

New fermenters, new cans, a new lager and a schedule of new export orders on the horizon have conspired to create the perfect storm at The Australian Brewery. In other words, they’re really, really, really busy.

In fact, so under the pump is the brewing team that they’ve calculated they’re going to need to be brewing seven days a week over summer just to keep up. While that might be bad news for them and their social lives, it may turn out to be very good news for you if you want to spend your summer weekends (plus a day or two either side) working alongside some lovely people making some lovely beer…

Brewer Needed!

The Australian Brewery in North West Sydney has entered into a sustained period of growth moving into the warmer months. Despite increasing fermentation capacity by a third in 2016 the brewery is struggling to keep up with demand of its new 375ml cans and keg sales. Three containers of beer shipping in the last three months of the year to Singapore the USA and China respectively have meant that the brewery will be brewing seven days a week over summer.

The brewery has also just released a new beer, Seis Hermanos Lager (named after the six brothers who own the brewery), which is already nationwide in Vintage Cellars and First Choice liquor. The beer is also available on tap across Sydney and Melbourne at select craft beer venues. Its gold medal at this year’s CBIA awards and the growing category of craft lagers has seen it run out the door at the brewery and increase pressure on the brewing team.

The challenge now is to keep it in stock.

To assist with this the Australian Brewery requires an experienced brewer on a three-month contract working Friday – Monday for an immediate start. For the right candidate, this has the potential to be an ongoing role.
