They’re after some new team members too so if you fancy a little bit of the action, read on…

Job Description: Experienced Brewer

Port Macquarie based The Little Brewing Company seeks an experienced brewer.

The role is hands-on across brewing, packaging, cellar and warehousing operations.

You will have at least two to three years’ experience in a commercial brewing environment or similar field and you will be passionate about consistently producing high quality craft beer. This is a full-time position requiring a ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to get in and get the job done when required.

We are looking for:

  • A passion for consistently producing high quality craft beer.
  • At least two to three years’ experience in a commercial brewing environment, or similar field.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake sanitation, brewing, fermentation management, filtration and laboratory processes without supervision.
  • Experience with packaging operations.
  • Experience monitoring areas of production for quality assurance purposes.
  • Administrative experience relating to the keeping of brewing records, the ordering of raw ingredients and packaging, and the maintenance of excise records.
  • A tertiary qualification in brewing science, or a relevant technical degree, eg chemistry or microbiology.
  • Fussiness beyond tedium when it comes to hygiene and production sanitary standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a working ability with tools and machinery.
  • Able to work safely and be safety conscious (knowledge of OH&S principles and practices).
  • Good health and physically fit.
  • Availability to work extended day shifts, nightshifts and weekends as required.
  • A willingness to learn.

It would help if you have a forklift driver’s licence but this is not essential, and it would be an advantage if you are familiar with a Meheen bottling line, but is also not essential.

A salary, based on experience, skills and qualifications, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
