Since 2014, Keg & Brew has been one of the top destinations for Sydneysiders after a crafty fix. This year, the pub is to undergo renovations, which the owners say will be the start of the next phase in the hotel’s life. Before that chapter begins, the venue is after a new duty manager to keep things running smoothly.
JOB DESCRIPTION: DUTY MANAGER
An excellent opportunity exists for a Duty Manager to join our team at Keg & Brew Hotel, Surry Hills. The right candidate will have a hands on approach to their work, a passion for customer service and an interest or experience in beer.
In place since the 1800s, the Keg & Brew Hotel began its life as The Standard Hotel, and went on to become The KB Hotel in 1922. Fast forward to July 2014, the hotel was purchased by John Azar, owner of the Good Beer Company. Having drawn in customers with craft beer & daily pub grub food specials, 2018 sees the beginning of the next chapter for The Keg & Brew Hotel as renovations begin for what will become the Surry Hills new haunt for everyone. This is an exciting time to be part of a growing venue!
Role & Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team to create a fun and inviting atmosphere for our customers
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, compliance and cash handling procedures
- Ensure venue and stock security at all times
- Supervise and manage busy shifts
- Manage/train staff to adhere to the expectations of the venue
- Process gaming machine payouts; have a good comprehension of compliance
- Have or develop a good understanding of beer/keg/cellar operations
Essential Criteria:
- Experience as a duty manager or similar role
- Available to work a rotating roster, including weekend and evening shifts
- Excellent product knowledge
- Current RSA and RCG
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with gaming venues
- Experience with craft beer

Salary opportunities available between 55k-60k, negotiable depending on experience. Immediate start available.
