Job Description: Head of Brewing Operations
Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co is independently owned and family run Brewery in the beautiful Margaret River region, Western Australia. Our purpose is to bring fun and excitement back to the beer experience. We think beer is about the joyous moments within and outside of the product, sharing beers and laughs, and enjoying life amidst the company of family and friends in environments which encourage good times!
With commissioning of our new production brewery in Vasse this December, we need an experienced Brewer who holds a sound knowledge of everything brewing, has an outlook to grow the business, is innovative and driven.
The role is a full-time position based in Margaret River, working closely with the managing director, sales manager, venue manager, marketing and events manager and growing team. The successful brewer will commission the new brewery, manage all aspects of brewing operations at our Margaret River brewpub and Vasse production brewery.
They will share our vision of brewing balanced beers which are highly drinkable and creating adventurous seasonal/limited releases.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee all brewery operations including production, packaging, maintenance and logistics.
- Lead a team of enthusiastic brewers and packaging staff.
- Implement and maintain a rigorous quality control program.
- Develop, implement and evaluate improvement initiatives designed to facilitate greater production efficiencies and quality.
- Recipe development and creativity to produce exciting seasonal and limited beers.
- Direct, coordinate and manage short term production planning in accordance with sales forecasts.
- Implement OH&S policies in the Brewery.
- Professional development/SOP/Training.
- Research industry trends to enhance the brewery, product offerings and operational standards.
The successful brewer will have the following attributes:
- Brewing qualifications highly regarded.
- Minimum five years professional brewing experience.
- Experience with canning and bottling lines.
