Pirate Life has risen to become one of the most popular breweries in Australia and will soon be pumping out more beer than ever from its second site.

If you'd like to work at the new brewery, they're looking to hire an experienced brewer.

Job Description: Experienced Brewer

Pirate Life Brewing was established in 2014 with the goal “To bring the freshest, highest quality beer to as many people as possible. Not only in Australia, but around the globe.” Ever since our first beers rolled out the door in March 2015 we have been one of Australia's fastest growing breweries and there looks to be no sign of slowing down.

In four short years we have gone from a three man operation to a team of over fifty. Brewing, packaging and selling delicious, hop driven ales both nationally and internationally. Having quickly outgrown our small site in Hindmarsh Adelaide we are currently commissioning an automated 50 hL Krones Steinecker brewhouse in one of Port Adelaide’s historic Woolstore Warehouses.  The new brewery will serve as the backdrop for South Australia’s largest tap room, slated for opening in March 2019.

We are currently seeking an experienced brewer to join our team and work across both production sites.  This will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work in both a high paced automated production environment as well as an experimental concept brewery focusing on new recipe development, mixed culture ferments and barrel ageing.

Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to building and improving safety systems and culture
  • A passion for and commitment to producing world class beer
  • Three to five years experienced on an automated brewhouse/cellar
  • Experienced in packaging is preferred
  • Specialised brewing qualifications or a degree in a related science is desirable
  • Strong communication and planning skills
  • Willingness to work on shift and some weekend work
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Willingness to aid in the professional development of other brewers

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated dependent on skills and experience.

To apply, please send a resume and cover letter detailing why you want to join Pirate Life to careers@piratelife.com.au.

Close of application date is November 1, 2018.
