Job Description: Head Brewer
Bootleg Brewery is the original brewery in the South West of WA. Established in 1994 by Tom Reynolds it remains fiercely independent and with the Reynolds family to this day.
Bootleg is looking for an experienced brewer to come in and run the brewery operations with guidance from the previous head brewer who is moving into a managerial role. The brewery is based in the beautiful Margaret River Region known for its plentiful food, wine and beers.
We have a 6 head Framax bottling line and have just started getting some contract canning done for us as well.
The successful applicant will be pivotal in guiding the future direction of the brewery in consultation with the management team and owners. It is a hands on role and they will be involved in every aspect of the brewing process from beginning to end, from cleaning to representing the brewery at events and dinners where required. To be successful with the job application you will need to demonstrate the following:
- A passion for craft beer and brewing.
- At least 3 years relative experience in a brewery preferably with packaging experience.
- Knowledge of all products in the brewing industry.
- Maintain accurate and thorough brewing records.
- An ability to work well as part of a team and as an individual.
- A good understanding of the mechanical workings of brewery and bottling line.
- A recognised brewing qualification is desirable but not necessary.
A remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
