It looks like we've added another dozen new brewery, bar and bottleshop listings since last time we did a roundup. So if you missed them when they were first announced via social media and the Friday newsletter, here's the latest additions to the Crafty directories.
They come from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. And they'll be joined by many more very soon...
Newstead Brewing Co – A fine example of a brewery and venue in one and brewer of some of the best and most consistent beers you'll find. If their second brewery gets up, look out for Newstead to join the ranks of the country's bigger microbreweries.
Barrow Boys – Currently operating as gypsy brewers at various spots around Victoria, the Barrow Boys are a collection of people with experience at various breweries and hospo venues big and small who specialise in flavoursome yet approachable beers.
The International Beer Shop – A Perth icon that has been selling great beer for a decade and a half. Now resident in a bigger, brighter venue than its original milk bar home, it's added a growler station and has one of the largest selections of beers in the country.
Beer DeLuxe Darling Harbour – When new owners took over Beer DeLuxe in Fed Square, they said they planned to take the name far and wide. They're proving true to their word with Darling Harbour now one of five BDL venues in Victoria and New South Wales.
Hop Heads – Having brought craft beer to Malaysia by opening the Taps venues in Kuala Lumpur with his cousins, Adrian Chong returned to Melbourne and opened this thriving bottleshop-cum-bar in Point Cook.
Wayward Brewing Company – Canadian expat Pete Phillip hit the ground running when he launched Wayward as a gypsy brewing operation a few years back. Now it has a splendid home in the brewery-heavy inner west of Sydney.
Exit Brewing – Another gypsy operation that now has a permanent home, at least of sorts. Frase and Grum started out with space at Cavalier – plus their nano setup in Seaford – but late in 2015 took up residence with Kaiju! in their new brewery in Melbourne's southeast.
Akasha Brewing Company – Former Riverside co-founder and head brewer Dave Padden surprised many when he announced he was walking away from the Parramatta brewery late in 2014. Now he's back in action with Akasha, based in Sydney's Five Dock.
Bad Shepherd – Dereck and Diti Hales loved hosting friends at home, serving up the former's award-winning home brewed beers and the latter's smoked and barbecued comfort food. Now they do it for anyone that visits their impressive Cheltenham home.
Wolf of the Willows – Another brewing company that started out at Cavalier, Wolf of the Willows was launched by Scott and Renae McKinnon and now brews out of Bad Shepherd, where they own 5/12 of the brewery. Specialists in slightly left field, full-flavoured and well made beers.
NOLA Adelaide – Four mates bring the feel of New Orleans to the heart of Adelaide and do it with craft beer front and centre, in part thanks to a 16-tap beer system that was paid for via a successful crowd-funding venture.
The Craft & Co – A new Collingwood venue that does a bit of everything and more besides. You'll find brewery, still, restaurant, deli, bar, cheese maker and more on site at a multi-purpose venue that aims to teach people how things are crafted as well as serving them tasty food and drinks.
