Brewers Wanted!

As more and more Aussies start drinking craft beer, the number of breweries is growing and many established breweries are expanding. As such, they need more brewers to help get the beer out the door. There are some pretty sweet sounding jobs going at the minute so we thought we should let you know:

Assistant Brewer – The Monk

The Monk Brewery & Kitchen, Fremantle, is on the lookout for a beer lover to assist the Head Brewer in brewing operations. The Monk brewery is a six hectolitre DME System, and operation has a strong hands on approach. Experience in Microbrewing is valued but not necessary, as education and training can be included in the role. Remuneration will vary according to experience.

The successful applicant will display traits including

  • High attention to detail,
  • Ability to plan and execute set tasks,
  • A creative mind and a keenness to learn,
  • The ability to accurately maintain records,
  • and a love of all things beer.

The position would initially be part-time, with the availability of bar / floor work if more hours are required (Subject to suitable hospitality experience). A successful winter period, should see the role develop into a full time position for the summer of 2011/2012 and beyond.

Moo Brew

Moo Brew has just moved to an impressive new brewery to significantly increase production and will still be using the former brewery for occasional limited release brews.

Head brewer Owen Johnston says:

Moo Brew is looking for a skilled brewer to join the team. We are looking for a person with five years practical experience and a strong grounding in microbiology and QC/QA. We are a small team, so you will need to be a good communicator with a positive attitude. If this sounds good, including the move to Hobart, then get in touch.
