Crafty Cabal Update – February 2018

With a few offer and event registration deadlines imminent, it's time for our monthly update from The Crafty Cabal, our beer lovers bonus scheme for readers who want to support what we do and get heaps of good stuff in return.

Before we get to those, however, thanks to all who came along to our bottle share at Bucket Boys and thanks to our host Johnathan for cracking some weird, wonderful and rare beers on the day.

Since our last update, we've launched a separate Crafty Cabal Facebook page to make it easier to keep up with all the events, prizes and new offers as the main Crafty FB is so busy there's a danger of things getting lost.

Anyway, what's new...?

Dreaming of a New England

Congratulations to Kelly Whyte, Juliet Harker and Adam Davidson, each the winner of a case of Fixation's new Session IPA, Obsession.

For February's main prize draw, we've got three cases of Pale Ale from New England Brewing Co up for grabs. We'll be picking those winners at the start of March.

You can check out our competition rules here or login here to enter the competition.

Great Times

The Great Australian Beer Festival returns to Geelong on February 17 and we've got ten tickets to give away.

Five are for existing Cabal members – head to your member's area to register your interest and we'll notify winners on February 10.

The other five are for new signups - head here to join the Cabal before they've gone.

Viva Brewsvegas!

Brisbane's biggest celebration of all things beer returns from March 10 to 18. Before that there's the Great Brewsvegas Pool Party on February 17 and we've got free tickets to give away to Cabalistas.

We'll be picking the winners this coming Saturday, February 10, so make sure you throw your hat in the wrong before then.

Be on the lookout for a Cabal special at the launch party, as well as a member bonuses during the festival too.

Login here to enter the competition.

Blend Your Own Adventure

We're currently finalising some details for an exclusive, members-only event at Tallboy & Moose.

What we can tell you is it will take place at the Preston brewpub in the middle of March and will involve barrels and blending. Keep an eye out as we'll be opening registrations in the coming days.

Prior to that, we'll be hosting the public leg of the first Getting Blind With Crafty tasting with them too and there will be the usual limited number of discounted tickets for members. They'll be on sale from Monday.

High Country Hops 2018

Bridge Road Brewers' celebration of the hop harvest returns over two days next month. As part of the event – which you can read all about here – they're running brewery tours and tastings of four beers brewed with unreleased experimental hops.

Spaces are limited and tickets cost $15pp. However, they've made a number of tickets available for Cabalistas for a special price of just $2.50 plus BF.

Head to your member's area to find out how to claim yours.

NB Dave's Travel & Events is running bus tours from Sydney and Canberra too.

Aside from the above, if you're heading to Tassie any time soon, make sure you head over to Bruny Island to check out Bruny Island Cheese & Beer Co where they'll welcome Cabal members with a free beer or tasting paddle – every time you visit.

Don't forget you can use the NEARBY button to see what's around wherever you are or use Crafty Recommends to see which breweries or venues near you have offers for members.

If you're still wondering what The Crafty Cabal is, it's perhaps best described as our equivalent to the subscription service you find community radio stations running. You can access everything we do at The Crafty Pint free of charge but if you want to support us in our good beer mission you can by signing up to the Cabal.

Rather than having a donation button on the site or setting up a Patreon (or similar) fundraiser, we've created a club of sorts so in return for your hard-earned you get deals and freebies at venues across Australia, invites to exclusive events, entry into heaps of awesome competitions with prizes worth tens of thousands every year and more.

If you enjoy The Crafty Pint, you can become a supporter of our independent journalism.

You can make a donation or sign up for our beer club, The Crafty Cabal, and gain access to exclusive events, giveaways and special deals.
