It's been a busy start to 2018, with a dozen more breweries, venues and bottleshops added to The Crafty Pint directory since the turn of the year and the next dozen likely to be racked up in the next few weeks. So, as is our custom these days, we're rounding up the latest 12 additions – this time featuring at least one new addition from each state – in one place in case you missed them when we first put them live.

The Mill Brewery (VIC) – The suburbs around Collingwood are becoming quite the hub for small breweries, with more in the wings. Joining the club in 2017 was The Mill, situated just off Smith Street and serving up rotating taps of beers from the hoppy to the dark to the intense while inviting guests to enjoy a spot of table tennis or, on occasion, food from visiting food trucks.
Bruny Island Beer Co (TAS) – When Bruny Island Cheese Co founder Nick Haddow and brewer (and former distiller) Evan Hunter met, it was a meeting of minds. The pair shared similar passions for Tasmania, local and often rare produce, old fashioned methods and more. So the former invited the latter to set up a brewery alongside his dairy and gave Bruny Island its own brewery, one that is among the most idiosyncratic and fascinating in the country. Dr Morse (VIC) – Bruny Island's beer lineup can safely be described as eclectic – and it's a description that works just as well for Dr Morse, the Abbotsford café, bar and eatery that's also the spiritual home of Bodriggy Brewing until the brewery venue opens across the road. It's a venue that's different things to different people, from somewhere to sink a few crafty froffs, tuck into quality dishes at all times of the day or soak up tunes from DJs in the courtyard to the rear.
Tapworks Bar & Grill (QLD) – One of four new listings from the same Crafty Fox group now on the site, this is one of a tiny yet growing number of beer venues and brewpubs appearing in big shopping centres across Australia. Offerings flow from the "Beer Organ" in the heart of Westfield's Chermside development.
Hawthorne Cellars / Greenslopes Cellars / Crafty Fox Cellars – West End (QLD) – The other three new listings under the Crafty Fox banner are three bottleshops, two of them well established – Hawthorne and Greenslopes – and the third a more recent addition in the city's West End. All offer wide selections of local and international craft beer, growler and squealer fills and knowledgeable staff willing to help you along the way.
St Andrews Beach Brewery (VIC) – From the home of some of the most decorated thoroughbreds in racing history to one of the more spectacular brewery venues in the country, it's been quite the transformation for Markdel on the Mornington Peninsula. Where once horses pounded the track, now you can sit in Makybe Diva's stall and knock back beers – typically of the more approachable sort – brewed behind the bar. Hops are already planted plus many varieties of old cider apples as the site embraces a new direction.
Little Bang Brewing (SA) – They started in a shed before moving to their current warehouse home and now send a growing number of their beers outside SA in tinnies too. But the best way to discover Little Bang, launched by two mates who used to develop video games, is to call into their Stepney home. There's almost always going to be something new on tap and there's always going to be a story associated with it too.
Hope Estate (NSW) – Hope Estate is one of a number of wineries in Australia that hosts uber-concerts, bringing thousands of people together to watch the likes of The Boss or Midnight Oil perform in the heart of the Hunter Valley. A few years back, founder Michael Hope decided he'd be better off brewing his own beer for the gigs rather than buying someone else's. From a brewery initially brewing a single mid-strength lager has grown a past Craft Beer Awards champion that produces an increasingly diverse lineup of beers.
Mr West Bar & Bottleshop (VIC) – Melbourne's west has been growing increasingly crafty in the past few years. And, in Mr West, it has one of the best booze venues and bottleshops you'll find anywhere in the city. Launched by a pair of beer and cider reps with backgrounds in Melbourne's hospo industry, they've curated a top notch lineup to keep you happy whatever your choice of tipple.
Northbridge Brewing Co (WA) – If you were looking for the definition of a gateway brewpub, Northbridge Brewing Co (or NBC as it's known locally) would fit the bill. This ultra-modern building in Northbridge Plaza combines an approachable core range with ever more out there seasonals (Bento Box Gose, anyone), augmented by other crafties and macro-lagers on tap and much more in the fridge. There's regular educational Beer Clubs for those wanting to learn more as well as sport on multiple screens and regular food challenges for those who just want to enjoy their beers without talking about them.
