IBA Encourages Voters To Choose Indie For GABS

Ahead of the GABS Hottest 100, the Independent Brewers Association is encouraging beer drinkers to vote indie in the poll. Last year, independent brewers made 71 out of the top 100 craft beers, and the IBA hopes to see that number build.

Media Release: IBA encourages consumers to vote independent

With one month to go until voting closes in the 2025 GABS Hottest 100, the Independent Brewers Association is encouraging consumers to look for the Seal and vote indie.

“Last year 71 out of the GABS Hottest 100 were made by independent breweries. Given independent breweries only have approx. 5% market share that’s a huge achievement. It tells us that that consumers are passionate about the quality beer being produced by breweries in their communities throughout Australia.

“We’d love to see an even greater share of the beers in the H100 come from indie breweries in 2025 and maybe even take out the number one spot on the podium.

"Consumers should know who they are voting for and looking for the Independent Seal and visiting Askforindiebeer.com.au can help with that.” said Callum Reeves, Chair of the Independent Brewers Association.

The easiest way to tell if you are voting for an independent brewery is to look for the Certified Independent Seal on Packaging or check out AskforIndieBeer.com.au where you can use the map to find your favourite indie beer.

Voting for an independent brewery means that you are supporting an Australian small business and now that is more important than ever.

Voting closes 12 January 2025.
