Entries Open For The 2025 Australian International Beer Awards

Entries open today (January 21) for the Australian International Beer Awards 2025. Brewers and anyone working in any facet of the beer media have until March 7 to take part in the country's largest beer competition.

There are new categories and trophies in 2025, including a debut for cider and perry, which you can read about in the media release from Melbourne Royal below. Alternatively, you can jump straight into entering the AIBAs here.


Media Release: Calling All Brewers: Entries Open for the 2025 Australian International Beer Awards

Join breweries from around the world in showcasing your craft on an international stage.   

Renowned for showcasing the highest quality beer and cider and for celebrating brewing excellence in Australia and around the world, the Australian International Beer Awards is open for entry to breweries and cideries of all sizes, from small to large-scale commercial production.

With 14 major trophies and 24 category trophies up for grabs, including the coveted Champion Australian Beer and Champion International Beer titles.

Cider & Perry Categories Introduced

Recognising the synergy between beer and cider production, the 2025 Australian International Beer Awards will debut Cider and Perry categories. These will include two new trophies - Best Cider or Perry and Champion Cider or Perry Producer.

New / Updated Classes

  • Australian-Style Low Carbohydrate Lager (Best Australian Style Lager)
  • Italian-Style Pilsner (Best Pilsner)
  • Red India Pale Ale (Best Modern India Pale Ale)
  • Updated ABV for India Pale Ale Classes, reducing the minimum ABV from 6.3% to 5.8%
