The Local Taphouse in St Kilda has been named Australia’s Best Beer Bar in the inaugural Beer & Brewer magazine Best Beer Venue Awards. It completes a double for the Local Taphouses after the Darlinghurst site picked up Best Specialty Beer Venue at Bartender Magazine’s Australian Bar Awards earlier in the year.
Beer & Brewer said The Local Taphouse, along with the New Zealand winner, Wellington’s Malthouse, “best exemplified the ultimate beer venue encompassing great beer, food matching, aesthetics, entertainment, knowledge, promotion and service.”
The winners were announced at a ceremony in Sydney tonight, with the Local Taphouse also picking up Best Themed Beer Venue and Best Large Bar / Pub. However, the rest of the Aussie awards were spread around the country, with venues in Queensland, New South Wales and WA also picking up gongs.
Congrats to one and all.
