Time To Rise!

Time To Rise!

We're past the 40 event mark for this year's Craft Beer Rising. The second national day celebrating local beer from local brewers at the best local venues takes place on February 28.

Already we've got a fantastically diverse lineup of events, including a cricket match to start things off in Melbourne, a cooperage demonstration in Ballarat, lawn bowls, ping pong and a bus tour in Sydney, a brewery launch in Toowoomba, a brewery bash in Byron, tap takeovers left, right and centre, including Brisbane, Adelaide and Launceston, and much more besides.

We're eagerly anticipating heaps more events coming in over the next few days but are keen to remind anyone taking part that if you would like event posters sent to your brewery or venue you MUST REGISTER by this Friday morning (Feb 13).

We're hitting the road all next week to visit and sign up more venues and breweries for our directories of craft beer awesomeness in Albury, Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle and won't be lugging our stacks of posters and mailing tubes along for the ride. So, if you're planning to take part, now's the time to do it!

As things stand, the East Coast is leading the way when it comes to Risings, with Sydney and New South Wales in particular embracing our attempt to further raise the profile of small Aussie breweries and the venues that support them year round with more than half of those listed to date:

We had 100 events in 2014, which means there's still a long way to go to beat that total. So come on, brewers and venues, jump on board while you can! You can REGISTER HERE (free of charge is your brewery, bar or bottleshop is listed on The Crafty Pint – check your emails).

For those planning to head along to one or more of the events, keep an eye on the site as more events are being added every day. And feel free to remind your local brewery or venue to get on board. The more events there are, the more noise we can make about great Aussie beer when we hit the media!

The Craft Beer Rising Manifesto

(AKA ideas on how to enjoy the day and help spread the word about great local beer)

Head to your nearest brewery and share a beer with the brewer.

Go to your nearest participating venue pouring all Aussie beer for the day and join in the fun.

Take a trip down Memory Lane with the first Australian craft beer you ever enjoyed.

Gift a bottle or glass of your favourite Aussie craft beer to a mate who claims they don'€™t like beer.

If all your local venues sell crap beer, gift the landlord a bottle of your favourite Aussie craft beer and suggest they get with the program.

Once again, we're looking for your Instagram pics with all snaps tagged #CBR2015 appearing on the website and prizes on offer for the best. And you can show your allegiance in clothing form by snapping up a Craft Beer Rising t-shirt or hoodie featuring illustrator Andy Shaw's work here.

Thanks to Bintani, Cryer Malt and Good Beer Week for their support and to Code-Create for the website.

Here's to another great day celebrating local beer from local brewers at the best local venues.
